About Asphalt Nitro
Asphalt: Nitro is a member of the successful “Asphalt” franchise brought to you by GameLoft.
Asphalt has its roots in early iTouch gaming. It was one of the first car racing games to actually be 3D and playable on iDevices long before larger game companies picked up on the concept. It’s no surprise that Asphalt: Nitro is such a polished work of art; the developers have had many years to perfect the art of car racing games on mobile platforms.
One area the Asphalt series has long struggled in is car customization. There have often been very few car options and very few upgrade options. This game has 21 selectable cars with more extensive upgrades, so car game enthusiasts may want to give this series another look.
The Asphalt series used to come in huge packages, sometimes several gigabytes large. Thankfully, the developers seem to finally have gotten a handle on game package size, and Asphalt: Nitro is only a 25MB downloadable package now, but it will take up much more space than that on your device.
One downside of Asphalt: Nitro is that it is not accessible on the iOS platform, a departure from earlier games in the series. While it thrives on online multiplayer, you won’t be able to play online with your friends who use iOS like you could in previous edition. However, the online feature is very fulfilling, at least for Android users. There are many tiers and levels to achieve, all of which come with new car upgrades and prizes. There are large incentives to come back and get better at the game.
Full of Excitement
In short, Asphalt: Nitro is hard to top in terms of graphics, physics, and multiplayer action. With almost infinite replay value, there’s no reason to not try it out. There are a few issues, mostly having to do with lack of integration with other platforms. However, these may only appear as issues because we’ve gotten so spoiled with previous Asphalt releases!
